Course Structure and Schedule

The preparatory year consists of three modules:

Module I           Courses A1 and A2 (beginner level)
Module II

Courses B1 and B2 (intermediate level)

Module III Course C1 (advanced level) and preparation course for an official German language proficiency test

The course schedule for the academic year is as follows:

Module I October – February
Winter break 2024/2025 20th of December until 6th of January
Module II February – June
Spring break 2025 25th of May until 1st of June
Module III June – Sepember
Summer break 2025 from 31st of July 

Programme Fee

The programme fee for the whole year amounts to € 3,990.00 to be paid in two instalments. For detailed information about the payment modalities please consult the Applications page. In addition you have the possibility to apply for a Campus Card. For the Campus Card every semester a "Studentenwerksbeitrag" of € 118.50 needs to be paid to the University.

A number of extracurricular activities will be offered, including a guided tour of Passau, a sightseeing boat trip on the Danube, trips to Munich, Regensburg and Salzburg, excursions to local businesses, seminars and many more…

Certificate

Every course level (A1 to C1) concludes with a final exam consisting of 4 parts: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. All students who pass the exam will receive a German language certificate with an overall evaluation score in line with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

The programm finishes with a preparatory course for an official German language proficiency test.
